Union City, Tenn.—Union City Police are looking for the suspect in an attempted robbery at a local business Friday. The suspect claimed he had a gun, but did not show one during the robbery attempt.
According to the report, a call was received at 911 around 12:30 p.m. saying an attempted robbery had just occurred at Sally’s Beauty Supply.
The clerk said a black male entered the store and brought a bottle of shampoo to the counter. He gave her a note which read: “I have a gun give me your money”. She said she thought it was a joke and said, “Huh, you’re going to have to show me the gun”.
She said the suspect stared at her then removed his hood and ran out of the store. She said he was wearing a red shirt under his hoodie and had on black and white Nike shoes and either dark khaki or olive pants.
The clerk said the suspect had a light complexion, in his late 20s or 30s, very skinny and had an ‘alien type face’ from being so thin. She said he was about 5’6” tall.
Police found the black hoodie in a fence row behind the store. A security guard at the Social Security office saw the suspect as he ran across the parking lot and someone at Wal-Mart saw him come out of the fence row and down the hill.
Footage of the suspect was found on the Wal-Mart security cameras.
