Obion County Fair Opens Monday With Something For Everyone

Union City, Tenn.—The Obion County Fair opens Monday and will once again be jam-packed with activities and entertainment for all ages from livestock shows, beauty pageants, commercial exhibits, live music and motorsports. And this year’s fair will be even more special, since fair organizers will be celebrating the fair’s 60th anniversary.

Theme of the fair is “The Obion County Fair, A Volunteer Tradition” and it runs from Monday, August 20-Saturday, August 25.

Culinary entries are accepted from 9 a.m. to noon, with viewing of exhibits from 5-10 p.m.

And it all starts at 6 p.m., with Grand Opening ceremonies at the Main Stage, the carnival opening at the Midway, poultry show and auction at the Hunter Miller Livestock Barn, the duck calling contest at the Whitney Cozart pavilion and live music from The Back Porch Stage.

Pageants begin at 7 p.m., with the Junior Miss Fairest of the Fair, followed by the Teen Fairest of the Fair at 8 p.m., and the Fairest of the Fair at 9 p.m.

At 10 p.m., it’s time for the $1,000 Nightly Drawing. The pageants and the drawing are at The Main Stage.
