Paris, Tenn.–Applications are now available for the 2018-2019 Leadership Henry County Program. This community development program, designed by the Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce, aspires to encourage both community awareness and leadership development with a diverse group of individuals each year. This program allows participants to get a behind the scenes look at many of the core components of the Henry County community. The schedule will include 8 monthly sessions focused on Team/community Building, Economic Development, Education, Healthcare, Government, Tourism, History and Arts, and Agriculture. Beginning in October of 2018 and ending in May of 2019, each session will consist of guest speakers, tours, and activities.
“As a recent graduate of the program, I can attest that participants will learn something new and exciting about Henry County each month,” according to Betsy Allison, Chair of Leadership Henry County. “Our community has a rich, vibrant, history that is matched only by its future. Leadership Henry County is designed for leaders who want to know more about this community and want to play an active role in making sure Henry County continues to be a fantastic place to work and live.”
Full participation is required. Any class member missing more than two sessions will not graduate. Deadline to apply is Friday, August 31st. Those selected to participate will be notified shortly after. Tuition for Leadership Henry County is $325.
“So often we get tunnel vision and overlook all of the incredible things that are happening in our community daily. Our goal for this program is to not only inform our leaders of everything that makes Henry County special, but to inspire them to be the best leader they can be,” according to Travis McLeese, Executive Director of the Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce.
