Paris, Tenn.–The reviews are good from the grand opening of Marker 66, the new waterfront restaurant which has opened in the Paris Landing State Park Marina. The new restaurant offers a little bit of everything, from breakfast to dinner, with entrees such as jumbo shrimp, salads, appetizers, tacos, and fancy desserts.
A ribbon-cutting sponsored by the Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce was held Friday evening just before the grand opening and Deputy Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Conservation was on hand to say a few words, noting that the new restaurant will continue to draw the public to the state park. He also noted how important Paris Landing State Park is to the community.
Chamber Executive Director Travis McLeese said, “Paris Landing is a vital element of our tourism industry. This is the first step of the improvements they are making to that area. We are thrilled to see the progress and look forward to the modernized Inn being reopened in 2020.”
Also on hand for the ribbon-cutting were County Mayor Brent Greer, Paris City Manager Kim Foster, Chamber President Scott Morrison, as well as city and county commissioners.
The Paris Landing Inn closed Sunday and will be demolished in October. A more modern, but smaller, facility will be built at that location and will open in 2020.
