Denver, Colorado—The Denver Medical Examiner’s Office Thursday afternoon released the name of the victim in Monday’s shooting as Josh Callison, age 27, and ruled that the his death was the result of homicide.
Callison is formerly of Paris.
A former Paris woman, Brittany Lyons, age 25, has been arrested in his death by the Denver Police.
According to the Denver Medical Examiner’s report released to WENK/WTPR, Callison died at the Denver Health Medical Center of gunshot wounds.
Lyons was arrested by Denver Police just before 2:30 a.m. Monday morning at the donut shop where the shooting took place.
According to the police affidavit released to WENK/WTPR, Denver 911 received a call around 2:30 a.m. of a man down on the ground outside the store. When police arrived, they found Lyons and a child inside the store and found she was armed with a 9mm handgun that was ‘stove-piped’ (a spent cartridge was stuck in the ejection port of the handgun).
According to the affidavit, a follow-up interview was conducted with Lyons at police headquarters around 5 a.m., at which time she waived her Miranda rights and agreed to make a voluntary statement regarding the shooting incident.
Lyons is currently being held for Second Degree Murder.
