THP Seeks Driver In Benton County Fatality

Big Sandy, Tenn.—A Big Sandy man was killed in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon and the Tennessee Highway Patrol is seeking to locate and interview the driver of a maroon Chevrolet Aveo that may have caused the accident.

Killed in the accident was Robert Toth, age 53, of Big Sandy. He was driving a Harley Davidson XLH northbound on Hwy. 69A when the accident occurred.

According to the THP report, Wesley Palmer, age 33, of Camden, was driving a Chevy Tahoe southbound on 69A and Toth crossed the center line, entering the southbound lane, striking Palmer in the right fender area. The statement of Palmer and his passenger, Wesley Brown of Big sandy, was that a maroon car pulled out of Able Street onto the highway, causing Toth’s motorcycle to cross over into the southbound land in the path of Palmer’s Chevy Tahoe.

THP Lt. Brad Wilbanks said, “If you know who this person might be please contact the Tennessee Highway Patrol Jackson District Headquarters at 731-423-6630 ext 8109, emailBrad.wilbanks@tn.gov or contact your local Police or Sheriffs Department.”

Both Palmer and Brown were wearing their seatbelts and were not injured. Toth was wearing his helmet at the time of the crash.
