Paris, Tenn.—Two men were indicted by the Henry County Grand Jury Monday on charges involving the burglary and arson of a home in Springville in 2017.
Indicted were: Troy Batts, age 25, of Greenbrier, Tenn.; and Cody Brundige, age 26, of Dresden. They were charged with aggravated arson, aggravated burglary, and theft.
According to the indictments, they men stole items, including guns, hunting equipment and Tennessee Vols memorabilia, from a home at 6610 Elkhorn Road in Springville in December of 2017, and then set fire to the home.
The Henry County Grand Jury had a very long and busy day Monday, issuing 49 indictments, two of which were secret indictments. The secret indictments will become public once the individuals are served.
The other indictments were for a wide range of crimes, from assaults to sex crimes, and burglaries. As always, the bulk of the indictments were for drug arrests and DUIs.
Among indictments issued:
Malcom Cirilo Benau, age 22, Paris, aggravated rape; D’shon Dunlap, age 21, Paris; aggravated rape; Brice William Lockhart, age 20, Henry, rape of a child; and Shontel Thompson, age 21, Paris, aggravated rape.
Several men were charged with aggravated assault, including Eric Scott Adams, age 35, of Paris; Travis Eugene Dowlen, age 34, Greenbrier; and two were charged with aggravated assault and domestic assault: Timothy Pratt, age 54 of Paris; and Rodney Burton, age 54, Paris.
