On Saturday night, at around 11 p.m., Deputies Blake Maness and Jon Michael Hill were on patrol when they observed a slow moving vehicle on Cross Spann Road in Northeastern Calloway County. The deputies recognized this vehicle as one being sought in connection with the wanted person search for Derek Lynn Stalls.
As the deputies initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle the driver refused to stop and a vehicle pursuit began. The pursuit continued through the Northeast area of Calloway County before crossing into Marshall County. As the pursuit passed in front of The Willow Pond Restaurant on U.S. Highway 68 in Aurora, KY, the driver lost control of the vehicle. The driver jumped from the car while it was still moving and fled on foot. Deputy Hill had to forcibly stop the unmanned vehicle with his police cruiser. The driver was found hiding in a wooded area behind the restaurant where he was taken into custody without further incident.
