Union City, Tenn.—Long-time Obion County Mayor Benny McGuire has announced his candidacy for re-election and will be on the August 2 countywide ballot.
McGuire has been County Mayor for 12 years through what he called periods of growth for the county. He noted that he has worked with local, state and federal levels of government in securing available grant monies for Obion County.
McGuire has been married to his wife, Ann, for 50 years, and they have three children: Shanna Ferguson, Hornbeak; Jolinda Gurien, Troy; and Grant McGuire of Union City.
