Paris, Tenn.–As the Paris Fire Department continues its annual testing and flowing of fire hydrants, fire officials remind the public to take a moment to let their water run before doing laundry, drinking, or cooking with water, as the result of flowing these lines sometimes cause a muddy or “rusty” color for the first few seconds of flowing. Not everyone will experience this, however it is a good rule just to turn on and let it flow for a few seconds before using, as this is a fairly common result of our annual testing of hydrants. We are currently only a few weeks away from completion of testing.
