Paris Man Charged With Attempted Murder

 
Paris, Tenn.—A Paris man was arrested on two charges of attempted first-degree murder following an incident Thursday. Two other men involved with the incident were arrested on drug charges.
Phillip A. Kiner II, age 51, of 250 Bates Rd., was charged with two counts attempted first-degree murder, six counts of felony reckless endangerment, possession of a firearm during a felony, unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
Kiner’s bond is set at $150,000 and he is being held at the Henry Co. Jail.
According to the sheriff’s report, deputies were called to a 911 call from another address on Bates Rd. where an argument was reportedly taking place between Kiner and a couple of other men. According to the report, Kiner fired three times during the argument and could be heard on the phone during the 911 call.
Deputy Sgt. Terry Williams arrived at the scene and saw Kiner holding a high-powered rifle and ordered him to put it down, which Kiner did. Children and an adult female were also in the house which prompted deputies to charge him with the reckless endangerment charges. Other deputies arrived and the scene was further secured.
Also charged during the incident were Charles Branam Jr., age 33, of 121 Bates Rd., manufacture of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia; and Kenneth McFadden, age 59, of 524 Old McKenzie Highway, simple possession and public intoxication.
Bonds were set at $2,500 for Branam and $2,000 for McFadden.
