Paris, Tenn.– The Henry County Court Appointed
Special Advocate (CASA) organization will be offering a mouth-watering option
for this July 4th holiday.
Freshly cooked Boston Butts will be available and the Henry County Sheriff’s
Department will be manning the smoker. The cost is a $40 donation which will
assist in the initial start-up of the local CASA office and providing assistance to
abused and neglected children in Henry County.
CASA volunteers are appointed by Juvenile Judge Vicki Snyder to be a voice for
the child so they will be less likely to feel lost in the system. The goal is to
provide additional help to an over-burdened legal and social services system.
Advocates often follow a case until it is closed and are a constant advocate for
the child.
The deadline to place an order is Friday, June 22. You may call (731) 363-
7940 to order or ask questions. There is also a Facebook page for “Henry
County, TN CASA” where you can message someone for more information.
The Boston Butts will be available for pick-up on Friday, June 29, from 3 until 6 p.m. at the Henry County Fairgrounds.
Judge Snyder welcomes others to join CASA and “Be a voice for a child.” You
may call (731) 363-7940 or email hccasa2018@gmail.com to ask about
volunteering or other questions about this special fundraiser.
