Getting Ready To Clean Up Paris

Paris, Tenn.—Some 35 people gathered Saturday morning for the Preserve Paris Clean-Up Scavenger Hunt sponsored by the city of Paris. City Manager Kim Foster said the city wanted to hold the Clean-Up day right before the World’s Biggest Fish Fry which draws visitors from all over to the community. Teams were divided into sections of town, including the area around Henry County High School, Fairgrounds Road, Jim Adams Drive and the East Blythe/Glendale area. Mayor Carlton Gerrell, Economic Development Director Jennifer Morris, City Commissioners Jackie Jones and Gayle Griffith, Parks and Recreation Director Tony Lawrence and USDA official Mary Hickman were among those participating. This was the first Scavenger Hunt held in conjunction with the regular Clean-Up Days. In photo, Foster explains how the Scavenger Hunt would work. (Shannon McFarlin photo).
