Services Set For Annie Wilson, Longest Living Member Of First Christian Church

 
Paris, Tenn.—Funeral services have been set for Annie Thompson Wilson, age 96, of Paris, who was the longest living member of First Christian Church in Paris. She died Sunday at RoseStone Retirement Community.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hillcrest Memorial Park, with Rev. Cory Glover. Visitation from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at McEvoy Funeral Home.
Pallbearers: Sam Knott, Bo Caldwell, Tommy Thompson, Bill Looney, Frankie Van  Dyke, and Pete Piskos.
Mrs. Wilson was a graduate of Grove High School and attended Murray
State University. She was a member of First Christian Church where she
was the longest living member of the church, also serving as a substitute
Sunday School teacher and was an active member of the Christian Women’s
Fellowship. Annie was a homemaker who loved to play golf and bridge. She
was a member of the Lady’s Organization of Paris Country Club for 50
years where she formerly served as a past President. Memorials may be
made to: First Christian Church in Paris, Tennessee.
 
She was married to the late James Wilson, who was a Camp Tyson soldier who settled in Paris after he met and married Annie. The couple were written about in the book about Camp Tyson, “As If They Were Ours”.
