Dresden, Tenn.— A house fire claimed the life of a Dresden woman Thursday evening.
When Dresden Firefighters pulled a man out of the fire, he told them another person was still in the house. The woman was taken to The Med in Memphis where she died later from her injuries. The man was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center, but the extent of his injuries is unknown at this time.
The names of the couple have not been released and officials from the Dresden Fire Department were unavailable for more information today.
The fire occurred on Gaylord Road in Dresden. Two dogs were reportedly also at the property—one suffered smoke inhalation and the other was not injured.
An electrical malfunction may be the cause of the fire.
