Athena Delphian Club To Hold Biennial Bazaar Saturday

Paris, The Athena Delphian Club’s Bazaar, which is held every two years, is scheduled for this Saturday, April 7, in the Enoch Building at the Henry County Fairgrounds.  It will start at 8 am for pre-sale ticket holders.  The sale will open to the general public at 9 am. And stays open until sold out.

According to Publicity Chair Rebecca Griffey, “Traditionally, in the past, the public starts lining up for the sale about an hour before the doors open, and, when the doors open, there is a mad dash not unlike Black Friday sales.  This year, however, will be different inasmuch as the club is selling a very small number of “pre-sale” tickets that will allow individuals to go to the sale early Saturday morning at 8 am and get the first opportunity to view and purchase items before the general public.”

Griffey said,”There are still a few pre-sale tickets available for purchase for $20 each at The Iron Place off Court Square in downtown Paris.”

The Club will be selling homemade, individually wrapped breakfast items such as sausage and biscuits along with coffee and beverages at the sale so there is no need to eat or pick up breakfast before or on the way to the sale, she said.  “Attendees can enjoy breakfast at the sale while shopping!”

All profits go back into the local community through scholarships to local high school students and to community organizations, who apply for grant funding.  The Paris/Henry County Youth Orchestra is an example of one such organization, which has benefited in the past from the Athena Delphian Club’s charitable funding.
