Driver Injured When Fire Destroys Vehicle

McKenzie, Tenn.—The driver was transported to the hospital after he was pulled from the vehicle when it started on fire in a one-vehicle accident on Hwy. 79S near McKenzie this morning.
 
Emergency personnel said the SUV was still on fire when they arrived at the scene. The driver was transported to McKenzie Regional Hospital but the extent of his injuries was unknown.
 
The SUV was totally burned out from the fire.
 
It is unclear how the accident happened and how the SUV ended up off the roadway, pointed northbound on the southbound side of the road.
 
Details of the accident will not be available until the Tennessee Highway Patrol releases the report. Trooper Jeremy Byars was at the scene and is investigating.
 
The accident occurred in Carroll County, near the county line with Henry Co.
