Jackson, Tenn.—A young lady from Martin won the talent portion of the Miss Tennessee Pageant during the preliminary rounds in Jackson last night.
Yvannah “Evie” Garcia was named a preliminary winner and won the talent competition for her vocal rendition of “Bring Him Home” from Les Miserables.
Garcia is an alumna of the University of Tennessee at Martin and a graduate of Westview High School. She is the daughter of Coleen and June Garcia. She is “Miss Dixie PAC”, having won the Dixie Performing Arts Center competition earlier.
Other preliminary winners were Miss Greene County Hannah Everhart and Miss Gallatin Mary Grace Wolkonowski, who tied for winners of the swimsuit competition.
Thirty-six ladies from all over the state are competing in the competition. The winner will be crowned Saturday night, with more preliminary rounds tonight and Friday.
