Huntingdon, Tenn.—Teacher Joseph Butler has announced his candidacy for Carroll County Mayor. He is seeking the Republican nomination in the May 1 primary and the August 2 general election.
A graduate of Huntingdon High School, Butler holds two degrees from Bethel University: a bachelor of science and an MBA. He is a member of the Carroll County Republican Party, the Huntingdon Church of Christ, Lions Club and Tennessee Right to Life. He also is a member of the board for United Way of West Tennessee and Habitat for Humanity in Carroll County.
In his press announcement, Butler said, “Over the past year, my family and I have prayed about the possibility of a significant change in our lives. After careful consideration and with encouragement from important figures in our lives, Megan and I feel confident that God has led us to this moment and wants us to faithfully take that step. As with the adoption of our daughter two years ago, we see the need and feel led to answer the call to serve.”
