Camden, Tenn.—Benton County Sheriff Kenny Christopher has formally announced he is running for re-election. Christopher is in his first term as sheriff and will be again running as an Independent candidate in the upcoming election.
Christopher is in his first term as sheriff and said, “It has truly been an honor and a privilege to serve the people of Benton County.” Christopher noted that he will be running as an Independent “as I did before because I believe with my whole heart that if any office must be totally unbiased and uninfluenced by politics, it is the Sheriff’s Department because of the many urgent and very important decisions that are made on a daily basis.”
Christopher said, “I believe that I have fulfilled my promise of being fair and honest and to do the very best job that I can with the resources I have available. I would like to thank the people of Benton County for the continued support throughout the last four years.”
Christopher noted his name will not appear on the ballot until the general election in August 2018.
“At this time, I would like to ask for your continued support. Please understand if I am unable to see each of you personally. My first priority is the people of this county so my time to campaign is going to be very limited. I will continue to work as your sheriff through this process. I have many great ideas for more programs and to achieve these I need your support. I would like to ask you for your vote in August. Thank you and may God protect us all.”
