Helping Hand Total Now $109,429

Paris, Tenn.—The Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction took a giant leap forward Saturday, with a total of $14,412 raised—bringing the grand total raised so far this year to $109,429.
Saturday was Educator’s Day and in the day auction, $8,,795 was raised, with $5,617 raised during the night auction. Two auctioneers volunteered during the all-day proceedings, with Junior Staggs handling the day auction and Noel Hatman at night.
Hundreds of items were donated by the county’s educators, along with some leftover items donated by the Inman Beta Club. The items ranged from homemade baked goods, casseroles, chili dinners, tamales and more to creative theme baskets and other home crafted items. The Henry County High School Wood Shop created and donated handcrafted bar and stools and Adirondack chairs. The pallet bar and stools was bought for $500 by Jeff Taylor.
Next week will be another busy one, with Monday starting off with items donated by New Harmony Baptist Church, the Heritage Center, Sparks Street Church of Christ, HCHS Band Boosters and Color Guard, and Inman Band.
Tuesday: First Presbytrian Church, New Boston community, Seventh Day Adventist Church and Joe Mahan Ford.
Wednesday: Mansfield community, Christ Lutheran, Carl Perkins Center and Johnson Chapel.
Thursday, Feb. 1: Buchanan community, Lakewood Beta Club, Henry County Democratic Women, Crusaders Travel Basketball.
Friday: Holy Cross Catholic Church, Chapel Hill/Guthrie Road, Last Mango in Paris Parrothead Club, TARP Center for Independent Living.
Saturday: First United Methodist Church.
The afternoon auction begins at noon and will be aired on WTPR-AM 710. The night auction will be aired at KQ 105.5 and begins at 6:30 p.m.
