Murray, Ky.–On April 28, 2026, at approximately 5:30 p.m., the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division, with assistance from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant at a residence located on Robins Court in Murray.
During the execution of the warrant, deputies located a large quantity of marijuana inside the residence, along with hundreds of THC disposable vape devices, digital scales, packaging and shipping materials, and drug paraphernalia consistent with distribution.
In addition to the narcotics, detectives recovered two loaded firearms, identified as an AK-47 style pistol and a 9mm pistol, as well as additional items indicative of drug trafficking. In total, approximately 16,873 grams (37 pounds) of marijuana, fourteen one-ounce containers of THC wax, and several hundred THC vape cartridges were seized.
The residence is located directly across the street from Westside Baptist’s Kingdom Kids School.
Calloway County Sheriff’s Office said,”We want to remind the public that marijuana possessed through proper legal channels for medicinal purposes is not a criminal offense. However, operations such as this are illegal and pose a significant risk to the community. The combination of drug trafficking activity and the presence of loaded firearms increases the potential for violence, attracts additional criminal activity, and places nearby residents, particularly children and families in close proximity, at a heightened risk.”
Two individuals were charged in relation to the investigation. Ronald Lewis was lodged at the Calloway County Detention Facility, while Shantel Hyte was cited and released. There will be no photo included for Hyte.
