Multiple Agency Response For Large Field Fire

Puryear, Tenn.–At 2:30 p.m., Tuesday April 21st, Paris Landing Fire Dept, Paris Fire Dept, Puryear Fire Dept and the TN Forestry Service were dispatched to 6150 Shady Grove Road in Puryear for a report of a large field fire.

Arriving units found a large sagebrush field on fire with the firerapidly spreading out of control due to the dry conditions with high winds.   The fire was finally brought under control with the Forestryservice establishing a fire line and back burn.

No injuries were reported and no structures were damaged.   A vehicle catalytic converter is the suspected cause.

Paris Landing responded with 2 trucks and 5 personnel, Paris responded with 2 trucks and 4 personnel, Puryear
responded with 2 trucks and 7 personnel.  Forestry responded with 2 units and 2 personnel.  Units were on the scene for 2 hours.

The property is owned by the late Kenneth Charles.
