Obion, Tenn.–At the request of the Obion County Fire Department, TBI special agent fire investigators are assisting in the investigation of the fire that destroyed the Willow Tree Restaurant at 128 E. Palestine Street in Obion early Monday morning.
Security video, seen on the Obion Fire Department Facebook page, shows a white vehicle in the area approximately four minutes before the fire. Investigators are hoping to speak with the occupant(s) of that vehicle, who may have information that could help determine the cause of the fire.
The Willow Tree Restaurant–located in one of the oldest buildings in Obion–was destroyed in an early-morning fire that drew mutual aid from multiple fire departments.
The two-story structure was built in 1848 by the founder of Obion and displayed local historic items.
