Paris, Tenn.–Henry County High School formally dedicated the scoreboard at Gamlin Gym in honor of Doug and Shirley Braden Thursday night.
For over 35 years, Doug and Shirley Braden selflessly served the students and schools of Henry County. Doug, who passed away in December of 2024, contributed his leadership as a dedicated and long-term member of the board of education, while Shirley inspired countless students as a teacher and coach.
School officials said, “Beyond their professional roles, the Bradens have been a fixture at Henry County High School basketball games—faithfully serving as scoreboard operators year after year. Their presence, kindness, and commitment have earned the respect and admiration of our community, visiting teams, coaches, and referees alike.”
