Firefighters Battle 30-Acre Field Fire

uc-field-fire

Obion County, Tenn.–A problem with a bush hog sparked this 30-acre blaze on Wednesday. Coordinated work by five area departments prevented the fire from reaching a 40-acre field of uncut soybeans. The landowner has a rural fire subscription on this parcel and won’t receive a bill. It took about 2 1/2 hours to completely extinguish the fire. Union City firefighters would like to thank South Fulton Fire & Rescue, Rives Volunteer Fire Department, Fulton County KY Fire/Rescue and the Tennessee Division of Forestry for their assistance.
