With a career spanning more than three decades, Tyminski has cemented his place as a legend in both bluegrass and contemporary music. His instantly recognizable voice was featured in the Academy Award-winning film O Brother, Where Art Thou?, performing “I Am A Man of Constant Sorrow,” and later reached new audiences worldwide as the featured vocalist on Avicii’s global hit “Hey Brother,” streamed over a billion times.
From his early years with Green Mountain Bluegrass and the Lonesome River Band, to his decades with Alison Krauss and Union Station, Tyminski has remained one of the most influential musicians in modern bluegrass. His solo catalog includes the soul-stirring Carry Me Across the Mountain (2000), the Grammy-nominated Wheels (2008), the Southern Gothic-inspired Southern Gothic (2017), and the Billboard Bluegrass #1 album God Fearing Heathen (2023). His 2024 Grammy-nominated live album Dan Tyminski: Live From The Ryman captures the electrifying energy that fans will experience live at The Dixie.
Alongside his storied recording career, Tyminski has been honored with 14 Grammy Awards, multiple International Bluegrass Music Association accolades, and has collaborated with artists spanning genres, including Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Martina McBride, Brad Paisley, and Chris Stapleton.
