Dyersburg, Tennessee—Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) welcomes Presley Dishman as the new DSCC Community Band/Choir and College Choir Accompanist. Dishman will provide piano accompaniment for rehearsals and performances, supporting DSCC’s mission of enriching our students’ and community’s cultural and artistic life.
A Dyersburg native and 2024 graduate of Dyersburg High School, Dishman has demonstrated exceptional leadership in the fine arts. She brings thirteen years of piano experience. Dishman has excelled as a student-accompanist for Dyersburg Middle and Dyersburg High Schools and the West Tennessee Vocal Music Educators All-Northwest Honor Choir for six years. Presley is currently enrolled at Dyersburg State, majoring in Music.
In addition, Presley has accompanied Dyersburg Middle School at this year’s All-State Music Festival and has been teaching piano lessons for five years. Her involvement extends to Milan First United Methodist Church, where she has served as Choir/Music Director and Pianist for the past year. Currently, she is the Director of Music and Worship Arts at Dyersburg First United Methodist Church.
Presley brings strong musical experience and a passion for collaboration to the role. As an accompanist, she will play a vital part in ensuring the choirs deliver dynamic and engaging performances for audiences across the community.
DSCC Choir Director Brianna Reilly expressed that Dishman’s appointment strengthens the program at a time of growth and renewed energy for the arts at the college. “Presley is a strong, responsible, and amazing accompanist. From the moment we had our first choir rehearsal, I could tell how much she loves playing the piano and accompanying. She is a smart musician and is always willing to go the extra mile to help our choir students understand their music. On top of being a phenomenal accompanist, Presley is also incredibly kind and sincere. We have become great friends in the short time we’ve known each other, and I can easily say that she will do amazing things as a future music educator and professional musician.”
The Dyersburg State Community Band/Choir and College Choir will showcase their talents at upcoming concerts this semester. These events are open to the public, allowing them to celebrate the arts and our talented students.
