Dyersburg, Tennessee –  Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the Bridgestone Americas Trust Fund to support the College’s Engineering Systems Technology (EST) program. The funds will be directed toward student scholarships, expanding access to technical education and workforce training across West Tennessee.

DSCC President Dr. Scott Cook emphasized the positive impact of the grant in creating opportunities for students within the EST Program, stating, “We are deeply grateful for this generous gift and support, which will directly strengthen our Engineering Systems Technology Program.  An investment like this ensures our students have access to the tools, technology, and training they need to succeed in today’s workforce.  Partnerships with industry leaders are vital to executing our mission, and this gift demonstrates a powerful commitment to education and the future of our communities and an investment in the workforce of tomorrow.”

Since its establishment in 1951, the Bridgestone Americas Trust Fund has awarded more than $60 million in grants to nonprofit organizations across the United States. The Trust Fund focuses on initiatives that empower people to move, live, work, and play, emphasizing three key areas of impact:

  • Mobility – improving public transportation, reducing congestion and traffic-related accidents, and increasing accessibility.
  • Environment – promoting biodiversity and environmental conservation.
  • People – creating a safer society, supporting accessible and inclusive education, and promoting healthier communities.

The $10,000 grant reflects Bridgestone Americas Trust Fund’s dedication to strengthening communities through education and workforce development. By supporting DSCC’s EST program, it invests in the next generation of skilled technicians and engineers who will drive innovation and economic growth in the region.
