Paris, TN- Henry County first responders and community members gathered today in the HCHS Gamlin Gymnasium for a commemorative program honoring the significance of this date and expressing appreciation to our local emergency personnel. Assistant Chief of Police Ean Reed and Paris Fire Department Assistant Chief Brandon Bell spoke to all high school students about the importance of remembering our history to guide our beliefs and actions today.
Both Reed and Bell emphasized the importance of unity among students—especially now that ninth grade has joined the HCHS campus. They encouraged everyone to be kind to one another and to lift each other up in difficult times. Remembering 9/11 serves as a reminder that even in difficult times, we are stronger together.
HCHS Criminal Justice teacher Diane McCord and her students planned the program and presented a brief program about 9/11 before introducing the speakers. The HCHS Madrigals also sang the National Anthem. A reception was offered to all first responders who were present at the program, with Criminal Justice Club members serving all who attended.
