
Obion County, Tenn.– Visitors to Obion County generated $80,089,072 in spending in 2024 according to newly released data from Tourism Economics and the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development.
“Tourism is not only about showcasing our community, but also, sustaining it. Visitors are essential to bring new, outside dollars into our local economy. The $80 million in visitor spending in 2024 is proof that tourism is supporting our businesses, our people, and our quality of life by generating vital tax revenue,” said Caroline Partin, Executive Director of the Obion County Tourism Board, Inc.
BY THE NUMBERS:
- Direct visitor spending in Obion County generated $4,684,029 in state tax revenue and $2,899,517 in local tax revenue.
- If it were not for state and local taxes generated by tourism, each household in Obion County would pay approximately $606 more in state and local taxes.
- Based on total visitor spending, Obion County was ranked #26 among all 95 counties in Tennessee, and #3 in West Tennessee behind Shelby and Madison counties.

Statewide, Tennessee’s tourism industry broke records for the fourth consecutive year in 2024, generating $31.66 billion in direct visitor spending and welcoming 147 million visitors.
