
Weakley County, Tenn.–A Weakley County family is homeless after fire destroyed their home Friday night. The Latham-Dukedom Volunteer Fire Department has issued a call for donations to help the family.
At 9:45 PM Friday, August 15th, Latham Fire was dispatched for mutual aid with South Fulton Fire to a structure fire on Vaughn Road.
Chief Fulcher arrived on scene within six minutes and found a single-story family home with heavy fire in the rear and a full roof collapse.
Due to the home’s location (bordering Latham, South Fulton, and Martin’s coverage areas), additional manpower and water were requested:
Latham Fire – 4 trucks, 12 personnel
South Fulton Fire – 2 trucks, 1 support vehicle 9 personnel
Martin Fire – 1 truck, 4 personnel
Also on scene – Weakley County EMS, Weakley County Sheriff’s Dept., WCMES
Chief Fulcher said he is very thankful the homeowners were able to evacuate safely without injuries, and he asks that everyone please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers as they begin the recovery process.
