Union City High School will hold its final dress rehearsal before the upcoming football season begins with the fourth annual Purple and Gold Jamboree on Friday night.

The Golden Tornadoes will host Covington for two 20-minute periods of varsity play, beginning at 7 p.m. after action between the two jayvee teams at 6:30.

The UC Middle School team will be part of the festivities too, squaring off against Crestview in a 20-minute session set to start at 6 p.m. The Tornadoes have already officially opened their regular season with a come-from-behind win over McKenzie last week.

Between the middle school and high school scrimmages, members of the 2025 Class 1A State Champion UCHS track team will be honored and presented with their championship rings.

Admission for the jamboree is $8, and no passes will be accepted. There will be no livestream of the event.

UC will open its 2025 regular season by hosting Jackson Christian School next Friday.
