Warm smiles and kind, welcoming words trumped any anxiousness of students who registered at Union City Schools for the coming 2025-26 year on Thursday.
Administrators, faculty, and staff greeted those who signed up for classes, which will officially begin on Monday at all three campuses.
UC Director of Schools Wes Kennedy said he anticipated enrollment numbers to be up collectively from a year ago and predicted “a banner year” for all things Purple and Gold.
Teachers in the Union City System – who’ve put in three days of professional development with extensive training and meetings this week – will work one final day in their classrooms on Friday before officially kicking off the school year on Monday.
