Cottage Grove, Tenn.–The Ables Family won first place at the Cottage Grove Freedom Festival parade Friday and you can see why in the photo. With the Ables children and cousins, they spotlighted our Founding Fathers and Ladies, with Dallas Ables portraying George Washington, Dakota Ables as Uncle Sam and Autumn Ables as Lady Liberty. Other parade winners: Tammy Wood, second place (the float with the bubbles) and Oak Hill Church, third place. There was a huge crowd all day Friday for the Freedom Festival–the 50th–for all the activities, including cake walk, tug of war, watermelon eating contest, Country Store, Firehouse International kitchen, good concessions, whack a mole, cornhole tournament and much more.
