Mrs. Karen Jeanne (Parks) Parker, 80, of Union City passed away peacefully at 6:46 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2025 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
She was a faithful follower of Christ, the wife of JB “Totsy” Parker, and the mother of Todd Parker of White House, Ty Parker (Sidney) of Union City, and Tiffiny Williams (Mike) of Jacksonville, Florida. She is survived by her brother Ken Parks (Eva) of Jackson. Karen was the grandmother lovingly known as “Mimi-K” to Kallan Parker Lewis (Dalton) of Troy, McKay Warren Adams (Will) of Brooklyn, New York, Katy-Chandler Parker Curlin (Tucker) of Jackson, Micah Warren of Jacksonville, Florida, Karoline Parker Parham (Ethan) of Columbia, and McKenna Warren of Martin, as well as great-grandmother to James Parker Lewis, Elizabeth Harper Lewis, and Scottie Elle Parham.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Harris Roland Parks and Jeanne Winston Jackson Parks as well as twin grandsons, Kolt and Caleb Warren.
Karen grew up in Tiptonville and attended Tiptonville High School where she was salutatorian of her class. She spent summertime working at Sunkist Beach, where she eventually met Totsy. After the first date on September 28, 1962, they were smitten, and after months of dating, they were married December 22 the same year. Soon after, they grew a family — a legacy built on strong faith in Christ, hard work, and love that has been passed down three generations. Karen was a devoted member of the Bishop Street Church of Christ, a congregation where nearly everyone knew her and Totsy as their own grandchildren call them — “Mimi-K and Tot-Tot.”
She was a more versatile woman than many would think. Not only was she a homemaker who could sew anything from outfits for her grandchildren to intricate quilts, but she could also make the best peanut butter candy or peach ice cream and give Totsy a run for his money catching fish. She was also an avid horseback rider and participated in field trials. She loved spending time with her family, hosting Christmas Eve at her home, butterflies, curling up with a good book, playing a game of Scrabble, watching horse races and old western films with Totsy, spending the day on a pontoon boat, and visiting Land Between the Lakes.
There will be a private graveside service held at Mount Zion Cemetery in Union City.
