
Multiple agencies, including the Calloway County Fire & Rescue, are currently out on the waters of the Kentucky Lake conducting a search and rescue mission.
At approximately 7 am this morning, Calloway County Fire & Rescue was dispatched out to the lake near the Hamlin area of the county after receiving a notification that two individuals fell overboard into the water. One male was able to swim to one of the islands in the lake and call for help; the other male has not been located at this time.
Their boat was found further down the lake still under power going in circles in the lake.
With help from the Calloway County, KY 911 Communications Center dispatchers being able to pull the location of the callers phone, CCFR personnel were on the water within 30 minutes & were able to rescue the male on land. Calloway County Office of Emergency Management & CCFR requested assistance from marshallcountyrescuesquad to help with the search efforts along with KY Dept. of Fish & Wildlife personnel.
Calloway County Fire & Rescue personnel said, “Please keep our first responders as well as the family of the missing individual involved in your thoughts & prayers today. We will post updates on the ongoing search & rescue efforts when there is information to share.”
