Arrest Made In Kidnapping, Assault

Mayfield, Ky.– A Mayfield woman is recovering from her injuries after she was kidnapped and assaulted. The suspect has been arrested and is being held in the Christian County Jail.

Michael L. West, age 41, of Mayfield, was transported to the Graves County Center. He was later transported to the Christian County Jail by Graves County Jail staff. West was charged with Kidnapping with Serious Physical Injury, Assault in the Second Degree, Failure to Appear in a Graves County District Court traffic case and Contempt of Court in a Graves County District Court misdemeanor case.
The victim was later released from the hospital and is recovering from her injuries.

At approximately 1:45 AM on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, Deputies from the Graves County Sheriff’s Office responded to an address on Old Dublin Road, West of Mayfield, in reference to a female who walked up to a residence reporting she had been assaulted. Sgt. Garret Clark responded to the call.

The investigation determined that the female had been assaulted and held against her will by a male acquaintance. The suspect, Michael L. West, 41 of Mayfield, had assaulted the female and held her against her will throughout the evening of June 3, 2025, and into the early morning hours of June 4, 2025. This occurred at the West’s residence as well as in a vehicle the victim and West were in.
After the male fell asleep, the female was able to escape and made her way to another residence to call for help. The female was taken to Jackson Purchase Medical Center for medical treatment.
Later in the morning of June 4, 2025, deputies responded to West residence to locate him. At that time, West had two active warrants for his arrest through Graves County District Court. A search warrant for West’s residence was also issued. At approximately 9:00 AM, deputies entered West’s residence after attempts to get him to exit the home. West was found hiding inside the home. He was arrested on the outstanding warrants as well as additional charges from the assault. The residence and a vehicle were processed as well for evidence of the assault and kidnapping.
