Cottage Grove, Tenn.—A Harrelson School athlete was honored at the Cottage Grove Legislative Council meeting Tuesday night.
Mayor David Jackson presented Braiden Newell with a framed certificate in honor of his outstanding sports performance on the Harrelson basketball team. He scored 19 of 34 points in a recent game with Camden. Newell was also named an Ambassador of the city of Cottage Grove.
In other business, Ed Jackson III, regional director for Congressman David Kustoff of the 8th Congressional District, was on hand at the meeting and told the council Kustoff’s office was available for any of their concerns. Jackson also appeared earlier that night at the Puryear council meeting.
Jackson said city workers are waiting for weather conditions to improve to paint new lines on Main Street and council voted to purchase new curtains and rods for the City Hall office windows.
