UT Martin Women’s Basketball Drops Regular Season Finale To Morehead State

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Martin at Tennessee women’s basketball team dropped a 100-73 decision to Morehead State in the 2024-25 regular-season finale Saturday afternoon at the Tom and Kathleen Elam Center in Martin,

The Eagles had the Skyhawks’ number from the jump and used a hot-shooting first half to build a lead they never relinquished. Morehead State shot a blistering 70.0% from the floor in the first half, at 21-for-30, while also going an unbelievable 10-for-15 from 3-point range. UT Martin kept it closer in the second half but was unable to recover from a deficit that ballooned to as many as 27 points before it eventually fell by 23.

Kenley McCarn led the Skyhawks with 15, Anaya Brown added 13 and Daejah Richmond came off the bench to score 12, rounding out three Skyhawks in double digits. Lexi Rubel had a team-high six rebounds with Morgan Borgstadt adding four rebounds and a season-high nine points.

On Wednesday, the Skyhawks will open play in the 2025 Ohio Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Championship as the sixth seed against seventh-seeded Western Illinois at 3 p.m. at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana.
