New Heaters Placed At Harrelson Drop-Off Zone
Puryear, Tenn.—Students Savannah Kate and Sophie Beth Staggs were enjoying the new heaters in the car rider drop-off zone in front of Harrelson School in Puryear this morning. Principal Maria Cox said the heaters were placed there for the teachers supervising the student drop-offs in the mornings and pick-ups in the afternoon—and students are enjoying them, too. Cox said, “It’s been so cold, especially in the mornings, and the teachers have to stand there for so long.” The heaters were purchased by the school, she said. “We had planned for a PTO fund-raiser but it got so cold we went ahead and purchased them and we’ll ask the PTO if they would fund them later.” The heaters also are being utilized at Lakewood School in Buchanan, which County Schools Director Dr. Brian Norton said were paid for by a parent donation.
