Students in Cole Clanton’s 7th grade social studies classes recently wrapped a study of the medieval period with a special focus on the Fall of Rome.
The Union City Middle Schoolers put their newly gained knowledge to good use by putting together several 3-D models of the time frame. They also drew posters detailing daily life and the government structure that was put in place after Rome collapsed.
Particular attention was paid to the development of manors and towns as well as the economic system after the collapse. Students used class time and worked on the project at home as well.
“The students did a great job of paying attention to detail with what they’d learned,” Clanton said. “I was proud of how they were creative in trying to simulate that period of time, and it was obvious that they took pride in their work.
“It was enjoyable watching them bring to life a period that was very instrumental in history.”
