Paris, Tenn.–It was a great day for the Henry County Carl Perkins Center, which made $14,700 for its programs for children at Thursday’s all-day Pancake Day. Director Carly Wheat thanked the public for showing up to the annual event, noting this year’s total was the highest ever. “We had steady crowds all day, even during the afternoon hours when it usually gets kind of slow. This was the most we ever had and we thank everybody,” she said. The event was held at the First Baptist Church in downtown Paris and volunteers served pancakes and all the toppings from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Manning the griddle, from left are: Ary Bell, Carly Wheat, Paris PD Investigator Derrek Colley, Henry County Sheriff’s Investigator Gary Carroll, Sheriff’s Investigator David Andrews, and Paris PD Investigator Jeramye Whitaker.  Shannon McFarlin photo.
