Union City, Tenn.–The Union City Police Department received a call today with threats of violence at the Union City Elementary School, Middle School, and High School. All schools immediately went on lockdown and Patrolmen urgently responded to all three locations.
UC Police said in a press release, “Our schools were quickly and precisely cleared for all active threats and we can confidently say that all students and faculty are safe and secure at this time. With the information we have, we now know this was nothing but a hoax phone call with the intent to cause panic and alarm. We are actively and aggressively pursuing those individuals responsible and promise to charge them to the full extent of the law! Thank you to our Patrolman for such a quick response and all of our amazing School Resource Officers for taking quick action to ensure everyone’s safety.”
