College Students Volunteer At LBL

Land Between The Lakes—The Friends of Land Between the Lakes served as host for eleven students from Central Michigan University who spent a week at the LBL as volunteers. The group included Shane Guenin, shown at left.

The group stayed at Brandon Spring Group Center and worked at the 1850 Homeplace and the Woodlands Nature Station. They also toured the 170,000 acre National Recreation Area.

LBL has had four college groups visit this year, contributing over 2000 volunteer hours.

Volunteers generated 9,000 hours of labor for the LBL last year in a variety of ways, from shoreline cleanup to the Bugle Corps. Anyone interested in volunteering may email volunteer@friendsoflbl.org or call 270 924 2007.
