
David C. Lindsey, age 84 of Mansfield, Tennessee passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024 at AHC of Paris. His funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. Monday, September 9, 2024 at Henry Church of Christ with Bro. Roger Graham officiating. Named as pallbearers are Josh Lindsey, James Williamson, Luke Williamson, Ryan Lindsey, Grant Norwood, and Nathan Blackwell, with honorary pallbearer, Frank Valentine. Burial will follow the service in Van Dyke Church Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at McEvoy Funeral Home from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. and again on Monday, September 9, 2024 after 11:00 A.M. at Henry Church of Christ until time of service.
David Carter Lindsey was born December 29, 1939 in Routon, Tennessee to the late Atlas Archie Lindsey Sr. and the late Lottierene Carter Lindsey. He married Sara “Jeannette” Parker Lindsey on July 30, 1960 and she preceded him in death on January 25, 2015. David is survived by his daughters, Donna (Lee) Winders and Diane (Alan) Lancaster all of Mansfield; son, James (Lisa) Lindsey, of Mansfield; grandchildren, Crystal (Grant) Norwood, Joshua (Kristy) Lindsey, James (Jamie) Williamson, Ashley (Michael) Curry, Megan (Nathan) Blackwell, Ryan (Candace) Lindsey, Sara Williamson, and Luke (Emily) Williamson; twenty-three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Janice Clapper of Mursfreesboro, Tennessee; brother, Roy (Kim) Lindsey of Gallatin, Tennessee; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Besides his parents and spouse, David is also preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret Harris, Jeanette Williams, Jane Donnelly, Betty Conger, Myra Hurst, and Judy Gammon; brothers, Atlas Lindsey Jr., James “Jim” Lindsey, and Bobby Joe Lindsey.
Mr. Lindsey was a longtime and very active member of Henry Church of Christ where he served in many capacities as well as a former treasurer. He worked at Emerson Electric Company for almost 40 years, from their opening in Paris until the time the plant closed and was president over their union for several years. David was owner of Lindsey Farm and Lindsey Mini Storage. He was a collector of Allis Chalmers Tractors. He enjoyed raising cattle, horses and was also a licensed electrician.
