Union City, Tenn.–Mutual aid was provided to a large grass fire at the Solar Farm on River Road in Union City Friday by numerous fire departments.
First responders were dispatched to the scene at 2 p.m. Assisting the Union City Fire Department were fire departments from Troy, Kenton, South Fulton, and Rives, along with the Obion County Rescue Squad and the Tennessee Forestry Service.
The South Fulton Fire Chief said, “This was a large scale incident and an example of the good working relationships between these agencies.”
Firefighters are reminding everyone to be extremely careful with any outdoor burning as humidity is low and grass is dry. There were four different fires in Obion County at one time during the day Friday.
