Buchanan, Tenn.–The house is a total loss but the family escaped without injury following a fire Saturday afternoon in Buchanan.
The Paris Landing Fire Department and Henry County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to 105 Oak Grove South at 3:30 p.m. on a report of a structure fire.
Fire Chief Reggie Coles said arriving units found a residential structure with heavy smoke showing.
The owners Mr and Mrs Jesse Barnhill and their daughter were able to escape without any injuries. It was determined to be an attic fire and although it was extinguished, the home suffered heavy damage from the smoke fire and water. It was ruled a total loss. Damage is estimated at $175,000.00.
The Red Cross has been contacted.
Paris Landing Responded with 5 trucks and 7 personnel. Mutual Aid was received from Paris Fire Dept who sent 2 trucks and 4 personnel. Puryear Fire Dept responded with 4 personnel. Henry County EMS was also called to the scene as a precaution. Units were on the scene for 4 hours.
