Waymon Robert Elliott, 88, of Buchanan, Tennessee, died Sunday, June 23, 2024, at The Farms of Puryear.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Paris. He retired from the State of Tennessee after working many years as an x-ray technician. He also served in and retired from the Army National Guard. Waymon enjoyed golfing, playing his guitar, and going to car shows. He especially loved his 1955 Ford car and 1952 Ford truck.
Waymon was born January 31, 1936, in Martin, TN to the late Robert Ardell Elliott and the late Mary Elizabeth Ferrell Elliott.
He was married to Bettye Jane Paschall Elliott on September 2, 1988 and she preceded him in death.
Waymon is survived by his special friend, Shirley Newman of Buchanan, TN; one daughter, Connie (David Keith) Harris of Martin, TN; one son, Richard Elliott of Paris, TN; one sister, Janie (Freddy) Sadler of Pilot Oak, KY; one grandson, Brent Woodruff; and three great grandchildren, Ashley Taylor, Payton Woodruff, and Kameron Woodruff.
Besides his parents and wife, Waymon was also preceded in death by one grandson, Justin Woodruff.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN. Visitation will be at Ridgeway Funeral Home on Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 11 am – 1 pm. The service will be at 1:00 pm June 27, 2024 at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Bob Valentine officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Burial will follow in Lebanon Church of Christ Cemetery in Weakley County.
