Mr. Donald “Donnie” Melton, 71, of Paris, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024, at his residence.
His funeral service is scheduled at McEvoy Funeral Home, 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 23, 2024.
Wilbur Farmer will conduct the service with burial to follow at Memorial Cemetery.
Named as pallbearers are Derrick Melton, Taylor Charnock, Brian Glisson, Josh Pagan, Derick Bowne, and Jessie Melton.
Donnie Melton was born January 15, 1953 in North Platte, Nebraska, to the late Robert E. Melton and the late Frances Gullett Melton. He married Nancy Jean Hutson Melton on November 21, 1975 and she preceded him in death on October 6, 2015. Mr. Melton is also survived by his daugther, Deidre Marrs of Paris; his son, Derrick (Emily) Melton of Paris; grandchildren, Taylor Charnock, Jessica Marrs, Ashley Melton, Lily Melton, Devin Boarland, and Alexandra Rowe; great grandchild, Haizley Bolden; sister, Cathy (Lee) Chapman of McKenzie; brothers, Billy Melton of Paris, Jerry (Dinah) Melton of Puryear, Ricky (Janice) Melton of Springville; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and a great great nephew.
Besides his parents and wife, Donnie is also preceded in death by daughter, Christie Melton; sisters, Judy Lamb, Cynthia Tyler, and Nancy Glisson; and by brothers, Robert Melton and Randy Melton.
Mr. Melton was a proud United States Army Veteran. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed going to races. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, the challenge of putting together jigsaw puzzles, building houses and working on cars. Donnie was known as a jack of all trades and was a family oriented man who cherished his time with all of them.
